Are you analytically driven? And do you like to improve business processes? As a junior IT consultant you work together with organizations, by researching and improving their business processes. You get to know many different companies from the inside and develop into an independent TOPdesk consultant in the first year.

What will you do as a junior IT consultant?

As a junior IT consultant you ensure that our customers can provide the best service to their customers using our software. How do you do that? You will examine the business processes and discuss organizational goals. Every week you visit several customers and help them further in the improvement process that you lead. In the first year, these will often be smaller improvement processes where the emphasis is on the tool. After that, the improvement processes become larger and larger and you create your own development path. The people you help usually work in the ICT, HR or facilities department. But with all organizations that want to improve their services, we are in our element.

Who are your customers?

Your clients vary from a small legal consultancy, a university to a municipality or multinational. With a small project you are ready in three days, for a large project, for example a municipality, more than 100 days are planned. Project coordination plans projects for customers and takes into account your knowledge and what you want to develop in.

Training program of a junior IT consultant

You start with a two-month training programme. This period is all about software knowledge, getting to know our services, customers, the different sectors and colleagues. You will go along with experienced consultants and, together with other junior consultants, work out practice cases. You learn a lot through role-playing. You also train your didactic skills by giving other new colleagues a TOPdesk basic training. The first real assignment with a customer is done together with another starting consultant. After that you can let go independently!

Growth as a consultant

And after that? Your role as a junior IT consultant continues to develop. In the first year you focus on the TOPdesk software, later you expand this into the role of sparring partner and advise at a strategic level.

Where do you end up?

You will end up in a company full of ambitious highly educated people who are ready to help you. We believe in working together. Everyone has their own expertise, but the same goal: to help our customers provide excellent service. In the first months you spend a lot of time with other junior consultants, after your training you join one of the client sectors, such as education, central government, industry or healthcare. Every sector has its own team atmosphere, customer target group and (agile) working method. You have time to research what suits you.

Region

As an IT consultant you are on the road a lot. You start with small assignments throughout the Netherlands. With enough experience, you can focus on customers in a particular region; for example, Limburg and the Northern Netherlands. Or you can help the foreign TOPdesk branches with their consultancy processes.
