What are you going to do as a software development people manager?
Make sure people grow and goals are reached! As a software development people manager, you'll have a strategic-level idea of how your teams' fields of expertise will improve over time. Based on our vision and goals, you'll decide the roles and people you'll need to reach these goals. You'll help teams recognize how they'll contribute, and you'll monitor progress. With your Agile coach, you'll ensure your colleagues find ways to grow while fostering scalability in the number of teams.
Next to that, you ensure alignment with other parts of development and various stakeholders, including improving how teams work together across the different layers we have at development within TOPdesk. You'll monitor the culture and encourage positive team dynamics.
You're the people manager who knows how to create excellent team dynamics where all colleagues collaborate, take responsibility and give and receive feedback. In short, you'll be part of a productive and wonderful TOPdesk environment.
Where will you end up?
At TOPdesk Development at our HQ in Delft! TOPdesk is an international software company with around fifteen Agile development teams in the Netherlands, Germany and Hungary.
Development at TOPdesk comprises of four layers: platform, enabling, functional and stream-aligned. Each contains agile, multidisciplinary teams dedicated to specific product segments. Complementing these layers are specialized teams known as cross-layer teams, encompassing various areas of expertise.
We're looking for two software development people managers for our Delft office: one for our stream-aligned layer and one for the cross-layer. What's the difference?
In the stream-aligned layer, you'll work with around 30 people in five teams close to our customers, and focus on the additional value for customer experience on top of the core TOPdesk product. You and your team will collaborate with sales, consultancy and partner management colleagues.
The brand-new cross-layer has smaller teams of around 15 colleagues in total. They specialize in topics like data, architecture or accessibility, and focus on full-time overarching projects.
